Mon Oct 22 Stay Calm-best Strategy

20 OCt 2007 What to Do???

Stay calm..will come bk again the markets.. eg in 1987 crash i went in and buy SIA,DBS,APB,et...then sit still ..don't buy on first day..wait in case margin call..will drop some >..but I think initial fear only.. worst scenarion will drop back to 3600 ,latter still a gd support....to sell yr shares now is letting go cheaply i.e to react to herd instinct...the best is don't look at it..but I know many can't resist the temptation..drop>300 points is not the end of the world ..in 1987 drop was 500 points ..to hve the same impact..today"s Dow need to drop about 3000 for the same effect....the world finance ministers are meeting this weekend..they will issue statements to calm markets..high.oil price is the greater evil..but I think OPEC may do something..overall economy may be affected and demand may slip and affect thier revenue subsequently...besides high oil prices due to Turkey-Kurds of Iraq tension..besides oil has dropped to about USD 88 from recoed of 90.7..so don't react hastily...don't anyhow short ,unless U're using CFD and naked short can't make large amount of $$$ as U need to cover by 5pm...never leave position open .U'll be shocked and punish by SGX with 2 bids up ..worsened by sudden spike in share prices which normally turn against U

In share mkt ,if U think of trying to recoup yr losses(if any)..will result in higher losses since yr thinking may no longer be rational anymore as greed and fear are now tugging at each other and by making decision is normally not the optimum one.

HK mkt was close ytday..so HK may also react > and this may affect S'pore. For me if I put my $$$ in FDs in S'pore accounts..meagre interest rates, properties soaring prices,ACU is my favourit but it has exchange risks too although the the drop is not as great as shares...i

I always welcome crashes(if any) that where U can really buy the blue chips otherwise normal days too high..I may buy back SGX(130 ,DBS(18),Yangzijiang($2.30),etc...Take care and may God bless everbody with to make rational decisions and that global markets react rationally
