Banks fell with high volume

For the past few weeks, penny stocks has been hogging the top volume list cos they are cheap so people can buy lots of it and there was a lot of speculation going on. On Friday, i spotted OCBC in the top movers list. A look at the charts of OCBC, DBS and OUB revealed that all 3 fell with high volume. Some signs in the charts includes :

1. A/D line failing to make a new high while prices made a new high
2. Head and Shoulders formation confirmed
3. Prices hovering near 200d MA with 2 charts already breaking it
4. MACD failing to make a new high while prices made a new high

Well, what's the implications of this ? That's up to u guys to think this One thing for sure though : This has bearish significance.

Oh anyway, how u guys display the charts in the thread itself instead of saving it as a attachment. I still can't figure it out man ..

Accumulation/Distribution

A momentum indicator that attempts to gauge supply and demand by determining whether investors are generally "accumulating" (buying) or "distributing" (selling) a certain stock by identifying divergences between stock price and volume flow. It is calculated using the following formula:

Acc/Dist = ((Close – Low) – (High – Close)) / (High – Low) * Period's volume

For example, many up days occurring with high volume in a downtrend could signal that the demand for the underlying is starting to increase. In practice, this indicator is used to find situations in which the indicator is heading in the opposite direction as the price. Once this divergence has been identified, the trader will wait to confirm the reversal and make his or her transaction decisions using other technical indicators

I am quite blur abt this point. since the 3 banks are having high vol. y the A/d never shoot up?

sian... so many indicators........ i am goin to faint.... think TA is as hard as FA...

Good post, guang !!

To embed chart onto the post, you need to upload your charts to site that can host your charts. For example, http://photobucket.com/. It is free. Then you copy and paste the chart URL onto your post.

This is beyond TA, according to The Edge. Local banks exposure to the CDO are:
DBS $1.3 billion
OCBC $600 million
UOB $500 million
This may have adversed effect on their share price!? I am not sure, maybe.

Erm maybe because the (close - low) not high enough ? or the (high and low) not high enough so the A/D line never shoot up ? Haha .. Dunno man .. Bascially when price makes a higher high and the A/D line fails to make a higher high, u noe someting maybe wrong with the price action.

I believe price action precede news n i have seen quite a few examples so far so theoretically the charts should suffice. . Besides i dun like to read news la .. Haha ..
